A simple disc. A shared goal. A sport with potential.

Disc golf combines movement, time outdoors and play in a sport that is easy to discover and adaptable to different abilities and needs. Yet not everyone has the same access to sport and physical activity.
GLIDE (Grassroots Links for Inclusion, Diversity and Engagement through Sport) brings together disc golf federations, sports organisations and inclusion experts from across Europe to change this.

Together, we are exploring how disc golf can become a more inclusive and accessible sport for all.

About GLIDE

Physical activity supports health, wellbeing and social connection. Yet opportunities to participate in sport are not equally accessible to everyone.

GLIDE starts with a simple question: How can we make it easier for more people to find their way into sport?

Our answer begins with disc golf.
Played outdoors and centred around a simple goal, throwing a disc towards a target in as few throws as possible, disc golf combines walking, coordination and play. Public courses are often free to use, and the sport can be adapted to different levels of experience and physical ability.

GLIDE builds on this potential to explore disc golf as an inclusive, health-enhancing sport for all. The application particularly highlights the low-cost and outdoor nature of disc golf, even describing its appeal as a form of walking or hiking with an added purpose.
